East China University of Political Science and Law has set up postgraduate education since 198 1. Graduate Education College was established in March, 20001. The Graduate Education Institute is the functional department of the school to exercise the management and service of graduate education, and its responsibilities include policy and business guidance on graduate enrollment, training, student status management, degree awarding, ideological and political education, party building and employment. The graduate education institute also undertakes the daily education, training and management of doctoral students and LLM students. Political science has degree authorization points such as political science theory, Chinese and foreign political systems, Marxist theory has degree authorization points such as the basic principles of Marxism, the study of Marxism in China, ideological and political education, socialist legal education, communication studies, and public management has degree authorization points such as administrative management, social security, cultural industry management, public safety management, social management, educational economy and management. At the same time, there are six professional degree authorization points: law (illegal study), law (law), public management, finance, social work and translation.

As one of the first eight universities in China, the school began to carry out the Master of Laws Education (JM) from 1996. The school also has the qualifications to recruit foreign graduate students studying in China and graduate students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. In order to further promote the development of degree and postgraduate education, on the basis of summarizing the experience of postgraduate education and postgraduate management system, the school decided to comprehensively optimize the postgraduate education management system from the fall semester of 20 14, and postgraduate education will implement the basic model of two-level management.
