English education is backward.
I think the main reason why China takes English as his main subject, as well as children's rote memorization of English, is that many children don't really learn English at all. And there is a very important reason that China attaches importance to English, but some teachers don't. Personally, I think English teaching in many schools is actually very incorrect. I think learning a language is mainly for communication, and the fastest way to learn a language is to communicate with each other. As we all know, when we have English classes at school, we seldom stand up and communicate with each other. Mostly because the teacher left some grammar problems, or we had to memorize words ourselves, and there was no chance to communicate with each other at all. Even though I have graduated from college and passed CET-4 and CET-6, it is still difficult for you to let me communicate with a foreign friend now. Because our problem-solving ability, reading ability, writing ability and listening practice are all ok, but our communication ability is really weak. So this is also a very important aspect that many students are not interested in English. Because most people think that learning English is only to improve their academic performance, they forget that learning English as a main course is for us to communicate with people in English-speaking countries. Many students only learn grammar by memorizing words, practicing sentences and reciting sentences, and have no idea what the ultimate goal of learning English is. So we didn't cultivate children's interest in learning English from an early age. Finally, I want to emphasize that many children fail in English, and another reason is the education level, especially some children in rural areas. Many schools don't offer English classes at all, and they only come into contact with English in junior high school. This foundation fell behind first, so many of their students failed English.
