Plato inherited and developed Socrates' educational thought. He attached importance to the role of education in national construction and stressed that the state should attach importance to vigorously developing education. He emphasized the harmonious development of children's body and mind in the process of education, paid attention to differentiated education according to children's talents, and advocated that the contents and methods of education at different stages should be different. He advocates that teachers should arouse students' enthusiasm, guide students to explore learning and pay attention to cultivating students' rational thinking ability in teaching.
