This book collects two educational papers by edgar morin, seven kinds of knowledge necessary for future education and a well-structured mind. In the first treatise, at the invitation of UNESCO, Moran comprehensively expounded his thoughts on future education in connection with his suggestions on "ideological transformation", involving the central or fundamental issues that he thought were ignored or forgotten in party school education, so as to arouse the thinking and discussion of educators from all over the world. The central idea of the second paper is that reform thought and reform education are inseparable and promote each other. They require a more simplistic and fragmented understanding, which ignores the interaction between the whole and the parts, complicates it into simplicity, blurs the fundamental problems, and leads to the tragic division between scientific thought and humanistic thought. The concept of reform is related to improving our ability to organize knowledge and connecting two different cultures. The goal of education is to cultivate a well-structured mind rather than a knowledgeable one.
