1979 In March, with the approval of the Provincial Higher Education Bureau, Hebei University set up an education research office and began to formally resume education and scientific research. 198 1 March, the Department of Education was established, and the enrollment of school education majors resumed. After nearly 20 years of development, as of September 2003, the Department of Education has four undergraduate majors (pedagogy, preschool education, applied psychology and educational technology), six master majors (comparative pedagogy, foreign educational history, educational technology, development and educational psychology, higher education and educational principles) and 1 doctoral program (foreign educational history), with 38 faculty members.

On June 26th, 2000, the Ministry of Education, the College of Higher Education and the Audio-visual Education Center merged to form a new College of Education.
