Nankai University has set up the experimental classes "Bo Ling Class" and "Provincial Sports Class" to train top talents in science, which are selected for the second time by freshmen majoring in mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology. Bilingual teaching is in line with international practice. The name "Bolingban" originated from Zhang Boling. Zhang Boling is a famous educator in China and the founder and president of Nankai University.

Nankai University's experimental plan for cultivating outstanding students in science focuses on cultivating top-notch students in basic subjects, including provincial classes (mathematics) and Bo Ling classes (mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology), with four majors and 20 students in each class.

"Boling Class" is one of the "Everest Plan" projects of the Ministry of Education.
