Tsinghua University is a famous institution of higher learning in China, located in the scenic campus of Tsinghua in the northwest suburb of Beijing, and is an important base for high-level personnel training and scientific and technological research in China. Tsinghua University, formerly known as Tsinghua School, was founded in 19 1 1. It was originally a preparatory school for studying in the United States founded by the Qing government. 19 12 changed its name to Tsinghua University, trying to cultivate talents locally.

1925, the undergraduate department was established, and the Institute of Chinese Studies was opened in the same year. 1928 was renamed as "National Tsinghua University". 1937 after the outbreak of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, it moved south to Changsha to run a school jointly with Peking University and Nankai University. 1938 moved to Kunming and was renamed as National Southwest Associated University. 1946, Tsinghua University moved back to the original site of Tsinghua campus for re-education.
