Advantages and disadvantages of intergenerational education
For modern young parents who attach importance to children's growth and lack the energy to raise children, the advantages and disadvantages of intergenerational education need to be carefully weighed. Most people think that the traditional intergenerational education in China has some negative effects on children's growth, which need to be noticed, corrected and overcome by grandparents and parents in the upbringing of children, mainly in the following aspects:

1, excessive doting and indulgence can easily make children too "self-centered" and form selfish and willful bad characters. Old people love children very much and often fall into unprincipled accommodation and doting. At the same time, because each generation is an only child, the elderly are afraid to take care of their children and blame them, so they rely more on their children, and their unreasonable demands on them are often not met without principles. Children's self-awareness, self-control and self-evaluation have not been well developed, so that they will not self-regulate and control their behavior from an early age. If their wishes are not satisfied, they will have mood swings or aggressive behaviors, and they will not be able to get along well with their peers and integrate into the group.

2. Excessive protection inhibits the development of children's independence and self-confidence and enhances their dependence. Let children do what they can, so as to cultivate their independence, autonomy and sense of responsibility and enhance their social adaptability. Many grandparents often do everything for their children. They don't want their children to play with other children, for fear that their children will suffer, and they will clear all obstacles for their children, for fear that they will fall. Doing so will only have a negative psychological impact on children.

Children's emotional needs can't be satisfied by their grandparents' love. From the perspective of psychological development, what children aged 0-5 need most is their parents' affection and care to satisfy their normal emotional attachment to their parents, which plays an extremely important role in their future mental health development, and this emotional demand can not be met by grandparents. Grandparents' love is more to meet children's survival needs and safety needs, but only parents can meet the higher-level needs-emotional closeness needs, otherwise children will not have the fourth-level needs of being motivated and respected. Emotion has not yet a stable ownership.

4. Lack of educational awareness and improper educational methods can easily make children miss opportunities to form qualities such as cooperation with others, caring for others and being enthusiastic about helping others. Parents always instruct their children how to play friendly games with them in the process of communicating with others. When there is a dispute with your partner, treat it calmly and pay attention to guiding your child to solve the problem in the right way. However, it is easy for grandparents to start from their children's "interests" and ensure their children's "no loss" education, and it is easy for children to develop the bad habit of arrogance and hegemony.

On the other hand, grandparents are very concerned about their grandchildren. They have enough time and energy, are willing to spend time with their children, and can listen to their stories patiently. Grandparents have practical experience in raising and educating children, and they know much about what problems children are prone to at different ages and how to deal with them. Grandparents have accumulated rich social experience and life insights in long-term social practice, which can give children a happy and relaxed learning and living environment. These advantages of grandparents' upbringing cannot be ignored.
