Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology was founded in 1960, and 1978 was identified as a national key university. In 2004, it was renamed as Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology. It is a national key university jointly established by China Meteorological Bureau and Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, a key construction university in Jiangsu Province, and an excellent undergraduate teaching evaluation school of the Ministry of Education. It has a complete bachelor's, master's and doctoral education and training system, and has a postdoctoral research mobile station. The school is dedicated to Yu Jiancheng, a world-famous meteorological university, a national key university jointly established by Jiangsu Provincial People's Government and China Meteorological Bureau, and one of the key universities in Jiangsu Province during the 11th Five-Year Plan 15.
