The predecessor of Zhejiang University was Qiushi Academy founded by 1897, so now some people call the campus of Zhejiang University Qiushi Garden and students Qiushi Sheng.

"Being realistic and innovative" is the motto of Zhejiang University.

Qiushi College is the college that most freshmen of Zhejiang University enter after entering the school. Large-scale training, after being divided into majors, will enter management schools, law schools and other colleges.
