The third grade of primary school is very important for children's growth. What should parents do?
The third grade is a crucial period for children to transition from children to teenagers.

During this period, the child's physiology and psychology have undergone obvious changes. This period is the best time to cultivate children's learning ability, will quality and study habits.

Everyone knows an educational common sense: good habits will benefit children for life, and it is also a key factor to ensure their future academic success.

Judging from children's growth law and psychological characteristics, children in grade three are 8-9 years old, which is a critical period for cultivating good habits and changing bad habits. In grade one or two, children's habits are unstable, but in grade three, once habits are formed, it is difficult to change them. Therefore, if children have not formed good habits by the third grade or the latest fourth grade, it will be very difficult to cultivate them in the future.

Of course, good habits cover all aspects. I can only talk about my study habits in combination with my own experience in educating children.

1. Cultivate children's professionalism.

Learning is a hard mental work, and only by concentrating on it can we improve our learning efficiency and get good grades.

When my children were in grade one or grade two, they went to a township school with their lover. I always think he is too young to understand many things, as long as he is not out of line, let him develop. After I took him to school in the third grade, because he was a new environment, a new teacher and a new classmate, many places did not adapt. But these are not the most important. The important thing is that I found that he has many bad habits, such as the habit of self-study, such as concentration in study, procrastination in homework, and several times he was criticized by the teacher for making up homework.

In order to correct his habits, I made three chapters with him: first, learning is the first, and nothing can be done without completing the learning task; Second, you must concentrate on your homework. You can't do it here and play there for a while. Third, homework must be done independently, and the speed of work should be improved.

In order to achieve? Chapter three of the contract? I spare more time to do my homework with him. Slowly, I found that when he was concentrating on his homework, it was difficult for the surrounding environment to interfere with him. Not only that, he is more focused on other things. For example, he is paying attention to reading, drawing and assembling. He can't hear you when you call him. Only by repeating it loudly and repeatedly will he answer. This seems to be a bad habit of muddling along. Actually, it's not. In fact, he is focusing on one thing, immersed in it, which is a good phenomenon.

It is an irrefutable truth that success begins with concentration. Only by focusing on the same thing can we concentrate our time, energy and wisdom on what we love and glow with potential wisdom? Maybe he needs this kind of concentration to achieve it in the future. Based on this, I won't distract him as long as he is doing his homework, reading and playing. Let him concentrate on his work quietly and don't disturb him, even if the meal is already on the table.

But I know many parents don't do this. Either you can't create a quiet and focused learning environment for your children, or you can't keep interrupting, asking questions, pouring water, feeding and criticizing when your children are studying? Or, always around the children. In short, children should not be allowed to study quietly and intently. It is difficult to form a child's focus quality, and even develop in the opposite direction.

2. Educate children to learn to arrange their time reasonably.

Cherish time and make rational use of time is an abstract concept for children in grade three. In addition, children of this age are active, playful and curious about everything. At this time, parents are needed to help them gradually develop the rules of study and life. Go to bed early, get up early and get to school early. Do everything as early as possible, ahead of time, ahead of time. When to do a thing, to what extent, and how long it will take to finish it, it is necessary to specifically give it to children and help them finish it.

I made an agreement with my children: never play on the way after school in the afternoon. When I get home, I will drink water and go to the toilet first, and then I will hurry to do my homework. I want to concentrate on my homework, without distraction or pause, to ensure speed, neatness and accuracy.

At first, he didn't do well, so I was impatient and shouted. But it turned out that the more he did this, the more entangled he was in his homework. Later, I tried to restrain myself, changed my strategy, and repeatedly strengthened it, and finally it worked. My son also gradually realized the relationship between time and effect. Now, I hardly need to worry about his homework. His speed, neatness and accuracy are particularly good. Parents of several children in his class often say that their children often finish their homework after 10 in the evening. My children never finish their homework at half past eight in the evening. After finishing his homework, he can still read for about an hour before going to bed.

My feeling is that it takes a long time to cultivate children's concept of time. Parents should not be impatient, angry or cold. Take your time, as long as the method is right, there is always hope.

3. Develop the habit of previewing.

However, most children with excellent grades have such good preview habits. For children in grade three, the relationship between good preview habits and excellent grades is not obvious, but with the increase of grade, this relationship becomes more obvious, especially in junior and senior high schools. Good preview habits are indispensable for children. Although good preview habits can be better reflected in grades in senior grades, they need to be mastered from an early age, especially in senior three.

For students in grade three, although it is not necessary to spend too much time previewing, it is necessary to preview. The purpose is not to master much knowledge, but to cultivate children to form this good study habit and lay a good foundation for future study.

As far as Chinese is concerned, I ask my children to preview and complete at least five tasks. First, be familiar with the text and know the author; Second, circle the good words and sentences in the text; Third, mark new words and phrases and know their meanings; Fourth, read the text after class to understand and answer questions; Fifth, summarize the meaning of each paragraph in one sentence and the content of this article in one paragraph.

In fact, children's knowledge level and learning ability are limited. In practice, I found that the degree he achieved was far from my expectation, and his Chinese performance did not reach the ideal level. But I kept doing it, and now he has completely developed the habit of previewing. I think this may be the most important point for his future development.

4. Develop good reading habits.

For the children in Grade Three, the most important thing in reading is not how much knowledge they can gain and how much ability they can improve, but to cultivate their reading interest and habits, cultivate their sense of language, cultivate their hearts, be rooted in cultural genes, and lay the foundation for their future study and development.

My educational experience is that children only need to pay attention to habits, interests, thickness and breadth when they are young. Everything else is redundant, even counterproductive. For example, some parents ask their children to write a comment or extract good words and sentences after reading an article or a book. This requirement seems reasonable, and it seems to be helpful to improve children's reading ability, knowledge level and analytical ability. In fact, this kind of reading with tasks often makes children read passively with pressure. Reading is no longer an easy and pleasant thing, but to complete some necessary tasks. Over time, this kind of pressure will gradually turn into inner rejection, which will make children tired and even afraid of reading. Finally, my interest in reading was completely lost.

Reading must have continuity and integrity to avoid fragmentation. Read here today, where to read tomorrow, today is popular science, tomorrow is fable, there is no logic and coherence between what you read in the East and the West. In this way, not only can not cultivate children's reading interest, can not improve children's reading ability, but will make children develop the habit of intermittent reading, thinking of studying, forgetting to put it.

My children like reading. They must read before going to bed every day, without reading or sleeping. For his reading, what I guide most is to let him read a complete series of books, and rarely let him read fragmented books. The most things in our family are books, and the most gifts for him are books. He is in grade five now, and his bookcase has at least 2000 books. I haven't counted his reading, but it may be very large. The year before last and the year before last, he wrote the novels Mouse Reporter to Fuxian and Beast Series respectively. Now I am writing a novel "deskmate friends series". Although it is still immature and has serious imitation elements, it is a kind of excitement and interest, which is the most important thing. I believe that reading will give him wisdom and energy, and reading will accompany him all his life.

In recent years, I have been taking care of my children while working. I can't finish a word, but my child's performance in all aspects is still relatively good. They are confident, sunny and optimistic, have a strong sense of time, have a wide range of knowledge, are good at thinking, doing things and studying, and like reading.

My feeling is that children must do well in the third grade. At this time, don't just focus on grades, make great efforts and spend time and energy to cultivate children's habits and qualities in all aspects, because the third year (8-9 years old) is the golden age to form good habits, interests and will. This is related to children's future study and development, and even affects their lives.

I hope my answer can enlighten and help you a little. Besides, I want to say one more thing. Although we are talking about the importance of the education and training of third-grade children, the education in primary school needs continuity and coherence, and every grade is very important.
