There were few Confucianists in the previous generation in Guizhou, and there was no imperial examination. The earliest recorded academy was the Luantang Academy in the Southern Song Dynasty. After the Ming Dynasty, Guizhou set up Confucian official schools at the division, prefecture, county and health levels, set up academies, social studies and self-study courses for scholars, and a "imperial examination family" and a talent center area emerged. Yangming's theory of mind has been widely spread, cultivated a large number of theories of mind, and formed a great influence in the whole country.
At the same time, Buddhism and Taoism spread vigorously in Guizhou and developed in minority areas, which greatly increased the number and spread scope of temples and Taoist temples, changed social customs and merged with the Central Plains. During the period of Zhengde in Ming Dynasty, Wang Yangming was demoted to Longchang in Guizhou. Since then, he has given lectures in Guizhou, spread Confucianism, trained a large number of talents, and formed four Yangming learning centers. His students are influential post-Yangming schools in Guizhou and even the whole country.
Confucianism and the development of imperial examination in eastern Guizhou after the return of land reform
The Ming Dynasty vigorously promoted Confucianism. In the second year of Hongwu (1369), Zhu Yuanzhang founded the school, and in October issued an order to promote the school, ordering all provinces, prefectures and counties to actively set up Confucian education. In the fourth year of Hongwu (137 1), the Ming court ordered all health centers to set up health schools, naturalized the children of Tusi, and in the eighth year of Hongwu (1375), Zhu Yuanzhang ordered all provinces to set up social studies.
States and counties all over Guizhou attach importance to Confucian education, and Confucian schools have been established everywhere. In the fifth year of Yongle, Sizhou Confucianism and Sinan Confucianism were established in eastern Guizhou, and were later abolished. On this basis, Shiqian, Zhenyuan, Tongren, Liping, Xinhua and Wu Luo were established.
