Zhicheng College of Fuzhou University was approved by the Ministry of Education. In July 2003, Fuzhou University, a national "double-first-class" university, a national "2 1 1 project" key university, a university jointly established by Fujian Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Education, and a university jointly established by Fujian Provincial People's Government and the National Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, was the main body, and full-time undergraduate education was implemented according to the new mechanism and mode.
Focusing on the orientation of running an application-oriented university, the college has further established the school-running concept of "erudition, questioning, careful thinking, discernment and perseverance", experienced students' three abilities of "knowledge, emotion and will", persisted in cultivating "all-round people" with both scientific spirit and humanistic accomplishment, and formed a talent training model with a four-dimensional structure of knowledge, ability, spirit and accomplishment. Adhere to the guidance of improving the demand ability of service fields and industries, and strive to build the foundation of "trinity" application-oriented universities from three aspects: teaching staff, talent training and platform construction, and strive to build high-level, high-quality, distinctive and influential teaching and research application-oriented universities with engineering characteristics and regional influence, so as to build the cradle of engineering talent training in independent colleges and private universities in Fujian Province.
The college has 16 teaching units and 42 undergraduate majors, covering leading industries, strategic emerging industries and traditional industries in Fujian Province, and has developed into an institution of higher learning with coordinated development of disciplines such as economy, management and art. The number of students in the school is close to 12000.
The College shares the excellent teacher resources of Fuzhou University, and builds an innovative teaching team structure of "experts and scholars as academic leaders, famous professors as professional leaders, backbone teachers as teaching managers, teachers of Duff University and their own teachers as the main force, and teachers with dual qualifications as the new force" to create a "double-qualified, double-qualified" teaching team with both teaching ability and professional practice ability.

It has 1 provincial virtual simulation experiment center, 4 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers, 4 provincial undergraduate colleges "professional comprehensive reform pilot" projects, 3 provincial talent training mode innovation experimental areas, 4 provincial innovation and entrepreneurship education reform pilot majors, 2 provincial education reform teams, 4 provincial major education and teaching reform research projects, 19 provincial education and teaching reform research projects, 6 provincial high-quality resource sharing courses and provincial-level education and teaching reform research projects.
In recent years, the college has continuously strengthened cooperation and exchanges with overseas high-level universities, set up a platform for cooperation in teaching and scientific research, jointly carried out personnel training and scientific research, and improved the level of cooperative education. With the United States, Germany, Canada, Britain, Japan, Australia 13 colleges and universities to implement mutual recognition of credits and courses, and jointly implement the joint training mode of "2+2", "1+3" and "3+1+". In terms of cooperation between Fujian and Taiwan, we have established joint school-running relations with four universities in Taiwan Province Province, and carried out in-depth teacher exchange visits, student exchanges and scientific research cooperation.
