CET-4 is a large-scale standardized examination sponsored by the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC) and undertaken by the Education Examinations Institute of the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC) (formerly the Examination Center of the Ministry of Education). This is a national teaching examination. Its purpose is to promote college English teaching in China, measure college students' English ability objectively and accurately, and provide services for improving the teaching quality of college English courses in China.
The main target of the examination is college students, undergraduates or graduate students who have completed CET-4 according to the educational syllabus. Standardized grades 4 and 6 were prepared at the end of 1986 and formally implemented at 1987.
The Ministry of Education entrusts the National College English Band 4 and Band 6 Examination Committee (1993 named "College English Band 4 and Band 6 Standardized Examination Design Group") to design, organize, manage and implement the College English Band 4 and Band 6 Examination.
2. Registration conditions
The examination object is limited to undergraduate or graduate students who have completed CET-4 in ordinary colleges and universities for four years or more according to the syllabus; College students or graduate students with the same level can register for the exam in our school with the consent of their school; Students from night university or correspondence university with the same level can sign up for the exam in our school with the consent of their school;
Starting from the examination on June 5438+ 10, 2007, the CET-4 and CET-6 will no longer be open to social candidates, but only to college students.
3. Fraction explanation
The design of CET-4 and CET-6 refers to College English Curriculum Requirements (hereinafter referred to as Teaching Requirements). The fourth level refers to the "general requirements" stipulated in the "Teaching Requirements"; Band 6 refers to the "higher requirements" stipulated in the "Teaching Requirements".
The scores of CET-4 and CET-6 are reported by reference to the norm, and there is no passing line. The norm group of CET-4 is selected from about 30,000 non-English major candidates in national 16 universities. The norm group of CET-6 is selected from about 5,000 non-English majors in five key universities in China.
