Primary and secondary education
In Ireland, the school year is from September to June, and the school education system includes 8-year primary schools and 6-year secondary schools. Every June, students take the national unified graduation examination and obtain the National Graduation Examination Certificate.
Usually, students have to take six to eight courses, and the total scores of the six courses with higher grades decide to continue their studies or be admitted to higher education courses. English and math are compulsory courses. Non-EU students must submit their applications to CAO (Admissions Center) before February 5th every year. Each student can fill in 20 volunteers, 10 undergraduate course and 10 certificate or diploma course, and the application fee is 36 pounds.
Students who submit their applications to CAO before February 16 to May 16 of the following year must pay an application fee of 54 pounds. Students who wish to change their wishes after application must apply before July 1, and there is no extra charge.
All applications in Cao Jiang were transferred to colleges and universities. At the end of August, the school announced the admission scores of various courses and began to issue admission notices. Admission is divided into two rounds, and students can receive at most two admission notices (one for undergraduate course, certificate or diploma course 1 notice) in each round, and students must choose 1 letter as the final choice. University life begins at the end of September or the beginning of 10.
Some overseas students choose to study two-year diploma courses in some private colleges. After completing the course, they can enter the second year of undergraduate course and apply directly to the international student office of the school without going through Cao.
In Ireland, there are nine universities, the oldest of which is Berlin College, which was built in the late 6th century. There are also 10 technical college, 2 technical research institutes and some teacher training colleges. The above schools are funded by the Ministry of Education and offer many undergraduate and postgraduate courses in art, medicine, engineering, science and technology, business and so on. In addition, there are many private institutions recognized by the government in Ireland.
Therefore, when parents are preparing to send their children to study in Ireland, they must understand Ireland's primary and secondary education system, with 8 years in primary school and 6 years in secondary school. On this basis, they will see whether their children meet the conditions for studying abroad or applying for schools, so as to prepare for studying in Ireland in the future. I hope parents can pay attention to their children's opinions in their applications and apply for their favorite schools.
