Since it was introduced to China from the west in 1980s, after years of evolution and development, it is no longer just an oral or written theory or social ideological trend, but has gradually become a deep-rooted ideological concept in some people's minds. It reached the stage of history by criticizing Marxism, socialism and communism. No matter how its representative figures, themes and areas of concern change, this is always its basic context.
Evaluation of belief liberalism;
First, the most confusing and provocative core concept is individual freedom.
It vilifies Marxism as a monopoly and rigid ideology, characterizes the thoughts and practices of socialism and communism as totalitarianism and absolutism, and publicizes the basic socialist concepts such as public ownership, state-owned economy, social equity, common prosperity and shared development as an impossible utopia and an ideological tool to deceive the people, and even vilifies them as a means to strengthen ideological control and engage in one-party dominance and dictatorship.
If neo-liberalism is allowed to spread freely, it will inevitably make people doubt Socialism with Chinese characteristics's socialist attributes and socialist core values such as social equity, common prosperity and shared development, and breed the wrong idea that socialist countries do not pursue individual freedom, collectively suppress individuals, authoritarianism controls freedom, public ownership infringes people's ownership, and public ownership deprives private ownership.
Second, I like to use words such as individual, property, freedom, human rights, rights, equality, democracy and pluralism.
If we want to expose its demagogic side, we need to emphasize in propaganda and ideological work that the pursuit of personal freedom is not liberalism, and we should get rid of the wrong idea that talking about personal freedom is liberalism and talking about socialism is not personal freedom. It must be clear that freedom is also the value concept of Marxism, socialism and communism, and it is an important content of socialist core values.
We can't give up the right to speak, explain and practice freely. We should fully explore the Marxist concept of freedom and systematically interpret Socialism with Chinese characteristics's theory of freedom. Among them, the problems that need to be clarified include: individual freedom without social justice is unreliable and impossible to achieve; Public ownership and individual freedom are not in conflict, but the premise and guarantee to realize individual freedom; Without government regulation, it is impossible to realize market freedom.
Extended data:
The evil consequences of the proliferation of neo-liberalism:
First of all, world economic integration has been strengthened, but economic growth has slowed down and structural contradictions have intensified.
During the period of neoliberalism, the world economy not only slowed down, but also accumulated more and more serious structural contradictions. In the past few decades, the United States has experienced an increasing trade deficit and current account deficit, and now it has formed a huge foreign debt.
According to the data of the US Treasury Department, by September 30th, 200011,the total foreign debt of the United States was close to 15 trillion US dollars, exceeding the GDP of that year. Even at the interest rate of 5%, it will cost 5% of GDP to pay interest only every year. Huge foreign debts and a large number of national debts have greatly weakened the status of the dollar.
Second, the profit rate of capital has rebounded and the labor force has been suppressed.
The neo-liberal policy has indeed achieved the goal of the ruling group of developed capitalist countries headed by the United States to a certain extent, and has dealt a blow to the struggle of the working class all over the world. The efforts of many former socialist countries and third world countries to develop national economy were destroyed, and the profit rate of international monopoly capital rebounded. But at the same time, the contradictions in the world capitalist system have not eased, but have intensified.
Third, economic financialization has intensified and various financial risks have intensified.
Due to the influence of neoliberalism, the American economy is constantly financialized. Since the early 1980s, the proportion of American financial industry in total domestic profits has been increasing, from less than 20% in the early 1980s to 45% at the beginning of this century. At the same time, the proportion of manufacturing industry dropped sharply, once falling below 10%, and now it is also below 20%. Since 1980s, a major financial crisis has occurred every 10 years.
