Responsible for the labor wages, personnel deployment, staffing management and assessment management of leading cadres of the organs and subordinate units of the State Education Bureau; To guide the ideological and political work and spirit of the national education system.

Responsible for the supervision of important matters assigned by superior departments and bureau leaders; Organize and coordinate the supervision, summary and reporting of various targets issued by the National Target Office; Responsible for secretarial, confidential, archives, letters and visits, confidentiality, security, information and logistics management; Responsible for overall management, external publicity and open government affairs; Responsible for organizing the compilation of educational yearbooks and educational records; Responsible for handling NPC proposal and CPPCC proposal; Responsible for rejuvenating the country through science and education.

The main responsibilities of the State Education Bureau are:

(a) to fully implement the educational principles, policies and regulations of the party and the state, study and formulate specific principles and policies for ethnic education and organize their implementation.

(2) To study and formulate the national education development plan and annual development plan, draw up the focus, scale, speed and steps of education development, and organize, guide and coordinate the implementation of the national education development plan, annual plan, educational system reform and school-running system reform.

(3) To be responsible for national basic education (including preschool education), special education, vocational and technical education, after-school education, adult education and higher education (including running schools by social forces), and to coordinate, guide and supervise the educational work of all districts, counties (countries) and relevant departments.
