The main responsibilities of the Education Bureau:

1, implement the national education policies and laws and regulations; To study and formulate educational reform and development policies and supervise their implementation; Formulate and organize the implementation of the city's education development plan and annual plan.

2, study and formulate the city's basic education layout, structural adjustment plan; Coordinate, guide and implement the reform of education system and school-running system; To guide the education and teaching reform in schools of all levels and types;

Plan and manage social forces to run schools, popularize nine-year compulsory education, and eliminate illiteracy among young people; Responsible for the statistics, analysis and release of the city's basic education information; To undertake the relevant coordination work of the Municipal Education Bureau.

3. Responsible for promoting the balanced development of compulsory education and promoting educational equity; Responsible for the guidance and coordination of compulsory education; To guide ordinary senior high school education, preschool education and special education; Formulate the basic requirements and teaching documents for the teaching reform of basic education, and fully implement quality education; Responsible for education supervision and evaluation.

4, the management of the city's academic education entrance examination; Responsible for the management of student status; Coordinate and guide the development and reform of vocational education in the city; Participate in the formulation of teaching guidance documents and teaching evaluation standards for secondary vocational education;

Put forward suggestions on the establishment and adjustment of secondary vocational schools in conjunction with relevant departments; Coordinate and guide the professional setting, backbone professional construction, enrollment and employment of graduates in secondary vocational schools; Manage and guide adult education.
