Professor Hippo is like a good friend, telling stories in your ear, staring at nature with you and talking to nature.

Every day's work tells the story of nature, and I am so moved by the magic of a flower and a tree in heaven and earth. I came across a good book last week. Accompanying me on the high-speed rail business trip is a book that I just received from my wife the day before yesterday. It is a book that my wife is very moved to read and wants to share with me-"Professor Hippo Tells Stories: Life Education in Nature". Professor "Hippo" is not telling stories about animals, but getting close to nature by knowing plants.

After reading only a few pages, there is inexplicable joy. The prose narrative technique looks like listening to someone telling a story in your ear. Professor Hippo is a professor at National Taiwan University and an enthusiastic university professor. He has won several prizes, and those who are interested can read the text by themselves. From the conversation between him and the students, they will know that the so-called enthusiastic teacher doesn't need to win several prizes or can talk a lot about nature.

Understand nature from appreciating plants.

It is precisely because these years have entered the world of natural ecology that I have opened my eyes and rekindled my enthusiasm for learning. But it is difficult to know plants at first, and I always feel that I didn't learn biology well when I was a student. Picture books, plus piles of text descriptions on the Internet, describe the characteristics of plants and can only be imagined out of thin air. Later, I found that it is better to see plants with my own eyes than to understand plants from words, so I started my research from observing plants by myself, and then, as Professor Hippo said, I "admired" plants all the way up to now.

Plants are quietly around us. Look at the plants in the room, and then look at the flowers and plants on the outer wall of the house, standing, looking up, squatting, and sometimes squatting like Professor Hippo. Take some photos, stare at leaves, flowers and trees, and pick up some fallen leaves, fruits or seeds, even if you don't know them. In recent years, I have found it even more amazing that even in the places I often walk, there are still plants I don't know, but I really can't always look up and find out who they are, but occasionally when I look at the information or observe, the plants themselves will pop up in front of my eyes and tell me who they are, which answers my doubts!

The plants introduced in Professor Hippo's book can be seen in NTU campus, and you and I often appear around, depending on whether you are willing to stop and listen to what they say to you!
