The college attaches great importance to scientific research and has achieved remarkable results. The research funds of our hospital have increased substantially, and the total research funds in the past three years are nearly 36 million yuan. Since 2000, our institute has undertaken 84 scientific research projects at or above the provincial level, and its scientific research achievements have been awarded 1 1 items at or above the national level, 4 achievements have passed bureau-level appraisal and 3 invention patents have been obtained.

In 2004, the research group headed by Professor Luo Xiaonan won the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award. The research group led by Professor Huang won the first prize of natural science of the Ministry of Education; The research team headed by Professor Tang Yong won the first prize of Guangdong Science and Technology Progress Award.

The software integration system of "Zhangxuntong" mobile data terminal completed by Professor Luo Xiaonan and others won the second prize of national science and technology progress in 2004;

Professor Huang and Professor Luo Xiaonan of our college won the National Outstanding Youth Fund;

The research group with Huang, Long Dongyang, Su, Zhang and Teacher as its core members was supported by the provincial fund research group in 2004.

The "Computer Aided Clothing Design and Textile and Clothing Industry Information Integration System" completed by Professor Luo Xiaonan of our college won the first prize of scientific and technological progress in China universities;

"Parameterization Research of Small Cavity Optically Pumped Submillimeter Wave Laser" completed by Professor Luo Xizhang and others won the first prize of Guangdong Science and Technology Progress Award;

Professor Qin Jiayin won the 7th China Youth Science and Technology Award.

In the past four years, our college has published 647 papers, including 359 core journals, 93 of which have been included by SCI, EI and ISTP, and published 3 monographs, 2 translations and 7 textbooks/kloc-0.
