Lufeng City, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Wei Chu City, Yunnan Province, is located in the middle of Yunnan Province and the east of Wei Chu. Its terrain is high and concave in the middle, and it belongs to subtropical monsoon climate. By the end of 2022, the city had jurisdiction over 1 1 town, with a total area of 3,536 square kilometers and a permanent population of 359,700.

Lufeng City is formed by the merger of Lufeng, Roots, Guangtong and Yanxing counties. 1958, Yanxing County was merged into Guangtong County. 1958+00 June, Roots and Guangtong counties merged into Lufeng County. Lufeng City is an important part of the urban economic circle in central Yunnan, and it is also the only place for Kunming to go to western Yunnan. The double tracks of chengdu-kunming railway and chengdu-kunming railway run through the whole territory, and the double tracks of Wuyi Expressway, Anchu Expressway and Kunchu Expressway are distributed in a "well" shape in the city.

There are three nature reserves in the territory: Wutai Mountain, Zhangmu Castle Peak and Diaoling Mountain. There are AAAA-level tourist attractions, World Dinosaur Valley, AAA-level scenic spots, historical and cultural towns of China, Heijing, Jinshan Ancient Town and Tuguan Wulongtan, and five traditional villages in China, such as Lang Jing, Lianxiangguan, Heijing, Banqiao and Brewmaster.

2. Location context

Lufeng City is located in the middle of Yunnan Province, east of Wei Chu, with the latitude of 24 51'~ 25 30' and the longitude of10138' ~102 35'. It is connected to Fumin County, Xishan District and Anning City in Kunming in the east, Shuangbai County and Yimen County in Yuxi City in the south, Chuxiong City and Mouding County in the west, Yuanmou County and Wuding County in the north. It is 97 kilometers east of Kunming, the provincial capital, and 85 kilometers west of Chuxiong, the state capital, with a total area of 3,536 square kilometers.

3. Topography

Lufeng landform is high around and concave in the middle. The highest point is located at the main peak of Laoqingshan in Bicheng Town, with an altitude of 2754 meters, and the lowest point is located at Xiaojiangkou in Dinosaur Town, with an altitude of 1309 meters.

Jinshan bazi (basin) is in the middle, Roots bazi is in the east, and Heijing and Chuanjie Canyon are distributed in the west and south. There are 25 "mini-basins" (dams) with an area of over 2 square kilometers in the county, accounting for 8. 1% of the total area, of which the largest is Roots Dam, with an area of 103 square kilometers, and Cai Yun Dam is the nearest thermal dam to Kunming.
