Matters needing attention in driving in rainy and foggy days
Consult traffic information before departure, observe electronic warning signs, and don't disobey the traffic police's command and dissuasion in order to catch up with time. So how to ensure safe driving when traveling?

First, check whether the safety facilities such as vehicle lighting and braking are complete and effective before going out, and wipe the windshield, headlights and taillights clean. Carry triangle warning signs or other warning signs in the car. In case of sudden failure, put warning signs 50 meters in front and back of the car to remind other vehicles to pay attention.

Second, when driving in foggy weather, you must strictly abide by the traffic rules and speed limit, and never drive too fast. The greater the fog, the shorter the sight distance and the lower the vehicle speed. When the visibility is less than 200m and greater than100m, the speed shall not exceed 60km/h; When the visibility is less than 100 meters and more than 50 meters, the speed shall not exceed 40 kilometers per hour; When the visibility is within 30 meters, the speed should be controlled below 20 kilometers per hour.

Third, don't use the high beam. This is because the high beam is on the upper side, and the light will be reflected by the fog, forming a vast expanse of whiteness in front of the car, but the driver can't see anything. When driving in foggy days, you must use anti-fog lights, turn on front and rear anti-fog lights, taillights, width lights and low beam lights, use lights to improve visibility, and see the vehicles, pedestrians and road conditions in front so that others can see themselves clearly.

Fourth, pull over at the right time. If the fog is too heavy, you can pull over and turn on the low beam and emergency light at the same time. After parking, get off on the right, try to stay away from the road, and never sit in the car to avoid being hit by a passing car. When the fog clears or the view is better.

Fifth, use speakers frequently. In the case of poor eyesight in foggy days, frequent horn honking can serve as a warning to pedestrians and other vehicles. When you hear the horns of other vehicles, you should honk them immediately to remind you of your driving position. When two cars meet, honk the horn to remind the opposite car to pay attention, and at the same time turn off the anti-fog lights to avoid dazzling the other side. If the opponent's speed is fast, take the initiative to slow down and give way.

Sixth, keep the distance between cars. Drive as slowly as possible in foggy weather, especially keep a safe distance from the car in front and don't follow too close. Try to drive in the middle of the road, not along the side of the road, in case of collision with a car temporarily parked on the side of the road waiting for the fog to disperse.

Seven, avoid blindly overtaking. If you find that the vehicle in front is parked on the right, don't blindly detour, but consider whether the vehicle is waiting for the opposite vehicle. When overtaking a vehicle parked on the side of the road, after confirming that there is no intention to start and there is no car coming from the opposite side, sound the horn at the right time and make a low-speed detour from the left side. In addition, please pay attention to the lane separation line in the road, and don't rush in the lane, otherwise you will be in danger of colliding with the opposite car. When driving in corners and ramps, you should slow down in advance to avoid changing speed, stopping or stalling in the middle.

Eight, don't suddenly brake. When driving in foggy weather, generally don't slam on the accelerator or release it suddenly, let alone suddenly brake and hit the steering wheel. If you really need to slow down, first slowly release the accelerator, and then gently step on the brakes several times in a row, so as to control the speed and prevent rear-end collision.
