Adult education refers to a form of education different from ordinary full-time teaching. Adult education, regardless of age and sex, is mainly implemented by various adult schools. Through this educational process, discriminated members of society can increase their abilities, enrich their knowledge, improve their technical and professional qualifications, or turn them to a new direction, thus changing their attitudes and behaviors in two aspects: their all-round development and their participation in the balanced and independent development of social economy and culture.

There are four main forms of adult continuing education qualifications, namely, higher education self-study examination (self-taught examination), online education (distance education), adult college entrance examination (full-time, amateur, correspondence) and open university (former modern distance open education of Radio and TV University).

Adult higher education is divided into three types: junior college, senior high school and junior college. There are three forms of study in school: full-time, part-time (including part-time and evening university) and correspondence. The shortest time for full-time study is: four years in senior high school, two years in junior college and two years in junior college (higher vocational school); The minimum study time for amateur and correspondence courses is five years from senior high school and two and a half years from junior high school and junior college (higher vocational college).
