The full name of the National Poverty Alleviation Office is the Office of the Leading Group for Poverty Alleviation and Development of the State Council, which is subordinate to the daily work department and vice-ministerial unit of the Leading Group for Poverty Alleviation and Development of the State Council. The State Council Civil Affairs Department co-ordinates the construction of the national social assistance system.
