Anshan Art School is the only public secondary art school in Anshan City. It was approved by the Liaoning Provincial Department of Education in 2002, invested and built by the Anshan Municipal People's Government and directly under the Anshan Municipal Bureau of Culture and Broadcasting. The art building has a professional dance rehearsal hall, art studio, performance classroom, music classroom, recording studio and piano room with advanced facilities.

The aim of the school is to cultivate professional and artistic talents. In recent years, it has sent a large number of students with excellent academic performance to Central Academy of Drama, Beijing Film Academy, China Communication University and Shanghai Theatre Academy. Many outstanding graduates are now active in the entertainment circle, such as Sun Dachuan, known as "Little Andy Lau", Jackson Yee, a popular young man, Peng Damo, a "genius director", and Cao Ranran, a famous actor.
