When will Mode 52 be implemented?
Starting from this autumn semester, compulsory education schools at all levels in Guangdong Province should achieve two "full coverage" of after-school services, namely, full coverage of compulsory education schools and full coverage of students with difficulties. At the same time, the "5+2" model of after-school service is implemented, that is, the school provides after-school service five days a week, with at least two hours every afternoon.

Carry out the "5+2" mode of after-school service, that is, the school carries out after-school service five days a week, including breakfast, lunch, lunch break and after-school service in the afternoon. The after-school service is carried out for at least 2 hours every afternoon, and the end time of after-school service in the afternoon should not be earlier than half an hour after the local normal working hours in principle.

Schools should provide deferred custody services for students with special needs. Flexible school leaving mechanism shall be implemented, but students who need self-study in school shall not be forced to leave school before the end of after-school service hours.

The notice also clarified the content of after-school services. After-school service is mainly based on basic custody service, and combined with quality to expand services. Basic custody service should strengthen homework management, including students' independent homework, independent learning, independent reading, teachers' answering questions and other learning activities, and arrange at least one basic custody service class every day to let primary school students work hard to complete their homework at school.

On the other hand, schools should combine curriculum reform, teaching reform, school-running characteristics, students' learning and growth needs, fully mobilize teachers' enthusiasm and creativity, and actively carry out and set up colorful literary, sports, labor, reading, interest groups and community activities. Do not use after-school service time to make up lessons or teach new lessons collectively.
