On the 27th, the Ministry of Education, the State Sports General Administration and the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Winter Olympics issued the Notice on the Olympic Education Plan for Primary and Secondary School Students in Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympic Winter Games, pointing out that Olympic education should be included in the regular education and teaching of schools. Primary and secondary schools across the country should incorporate Olympic education into school education and teaching content, and carry out Olympic theme education through comprehensive practical activity courses, physical education courses and moral education activities.

The notice clarified the work objectives:

Focusing on the goal of "300 million people participating in ice and snow sports" and combining with the planning outline of "Healthy China 2030", we will promote the all-round development of Olympic education in China, vigorously popularize winter sports for young people, and drive the majority of primary and secondary school students to share the achievements of the Winter Olympics, thus forming an Olympic education model with China characteristics.

First, Olympic education should be incorporated into school education and teaching, and the knowledge of Winter Olympics events and competitions should be popularized in classroom teaching and extracurricular practice, so as to promote the development of the Olympic movement and Olympic spirit in campus sports.

Second, carry out extensive Olympic education activities in primary and secondary schools, promote the Olympic spirit, and encourage primary and secondary school students to actively participate in and support the Beijing Winter Olympics.

The third is to expand the international exchange of primary and secondary school students through Olympic education, establish the consciousness of being a good host of the Winter Olympics, and cultivate young students with international vision and civilized manners.

Fourth, hold the Winter Olympics for primary and secondary school students to enhance their understanding of the Olympics, so that students can gain lessons and happiness from personal experience and master winter sports skills.

Fifth, carry out Olympic education research, establish a number of Olympic education characteristic demonstration schools, snow sports characteristic schools and concentric knot schools, form various forms of educational and teaching demonstration results, and set up Olympic education research institutions to leave a sustainable and rich legacy for Olympic education.
