Luquan No.1 Middle School was founded in 1928. Over the past 80 years, the school has been developing vigorously in this sacred land, and has trained groups of students. It is the center of Luquan education and teaching research and the window of the construction of two civilizations, and has made outstanding contributions to the development of Luquan basic education.

Famous universities and all walks of life in China have trained and transported a large number of high-quality talents, and have grown into a school with 23 senior middle school teachers and 29 first-class middle school teachers, including 6 master students. More than 5000 junior and senior high school students have finished the first and third grade middle schools.

Scale of running a school

The original school area is 17.5 mu. In 2004, with the great attention, care and support of the county party Committee, government and education authorities, Luquan No.1 Middle School was relocated and built as a whole. The new campus covers an area of 104.65 mu with a total investment of more than 40 million yuan. After completion, Luquan No.1 Middle School will have 60 classes with a school scale of over 3,000 students.

During the Tenth Five-Year Plan period, the party and government leaders of the school, in line with the work style of unity, pragmatism, diligence, innovation and striving for Excellence, led all the teaching staff to work hard, actively completed all the tasks assigned by the higher education administrative departments, earnestly implemented the management assessment system of the school, fully mobilized the work enthusiasm of all the teaching staff, and consolidated the educational achievements of the Ninth Five-Year Plan.

Thanks to the joint efforts of all the teaching staff, the school was awarded as a municipal civilized school in 1996, a provincial civilized unit in 1999, a provincial second-class first-class complete middle school in 2000, a provincial civilized unit again in 2003, the Kunming College Entrance Examination Quality Progress Award in 2006, and an annual advanced unit and collective in education management by the county people's government for five consecutive years.
