The Compulsory Education Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) is a law to protect the right of school-age children and adolescents to receive compulsory education, aiming at ensuring the implementation of compulsory education and improving the quality of the whole nation. This law was passed by the Fourth Session of the Sixth National People's Congress on April 1986, 2006, and came into force on July 1986, 2006. On February 29th, 2006, the 7th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 13th NPC passed the Amendment to the Compulsory Education Law of People's Republic of China (PRC).
