English teaching under the new curriculum standard: how to make students really learn English well?
In order to construct a modern basic education curriculum system with China characteristics and adapt to economic construction and social development, the Ministry of Education promulgated English Curriculum Standards in May 2006. The core idea of the new curriculum standard is: everything is for the development of students. So, what should we do for students? How to control the classroom and guide students to learn English well when the new curriculum is open?

Adapt to local culture and folk customs

English teaching content should include the local culture, folk customs and national characteristics of English-speaking countries. Through language, we should also let students know about the local culture and folk customs contained in the language, which can enhance their ability to understand and use English.

Diversified teaching materials

In order to let students really integrate into the English environment and learn authentic English instead of Chinglish, we should reflect more Chinese and foreign history, local food, local scenery, traditional festivals, cultural customs and so on in the teaching materials. Through various reading materials, multimedia, comics and other media as a supplement to the teaching materials, help the spread of English culture.
