Comparing the comprehensive strength of Wuhan, Zhengzhou, Xi and Changsha, who is the first in Central China?
It is undeniable that Wuhan ranks first in Central China in comprehensive strength.

In 20 16, Wuhan's GDP was1191200 million RMB, making it the only city in the six central provinces that exceeded one trillion yuan. 932.3 billion in Changsha, 799.4 billion in Zhengzhou and 627.4 billion in Hefei.

There are two indicators to examine the resource co-ordination ability of a provincial capital city: one is the proportion of GDP of the provincial capital city to the whole province, and the other is the proportion of "the balance of various deposits in local and foreign currencies" to the whole province.

Note: All units in the table are trillion yuan, and the data comes from 20 15.

As can be seen from the above table, Xi and Wuhan are the two most powerful provincial capitals. Xi 'an gathered 55% of the province's funds and created 32% of the province's GDP. Wuhan absorbed 47% of the province's funds and created 37% of the province's GDP.

In terms of educational resources, Wuhan is also the largest among the central cities.

Wuhan has seven first-class universities in China, including Wuhan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Wuhan University of Technology, China Geo University, Huazhong Agricultural University and Huazhong Normal University. There are three first-class universities in Changsha, namely National University of Defense Technology, Central South University and Hunan Normal University. Hefei has five institutions of higher learning: China University of Science and Technology, Hefei University of Technology, Anhui University, Hefei Campus of Beihang University and Hefei Campus of Beijing Foreign Studies University. Zhengzhou University has only one 2 1 1 college.

Although Wuhan is relatively strong in the central cities at present, the future development prospect of Hefei should be the best among several cities. The national policy is inclined to Anhui, and the major railway lines also meet in Hefei. Coupled with Hefei's own powerful scientific and educational resources, it is only a matter of time before Hefei will rise strongly in the central region in the future.
