Fundamentals of Materials Science (3rd Edition).

Edited by Hu, Cai Xun and Rong Yonghua

Prepared by Shanghai Municipal Education Commission

Material science is a new subject that studies the relationship between material composition, microstructure, preparation technology, material properties and applications. Based on the theory of commonness, it is of guiding significance to construct the microscopic characteristics and macroscopic laws of different materials such as metals, ceramics and polymers.

Fundamentals of Materials Science (3rd Edition) is a national planning textbook for undergraduate students of general higher education in the 12th Five-Year Plan, and it is also a basic theoretical textbook for materials science and engineering. It belongs to the ninth five-year plan key textbook construction project of Shanghai universities, and was listed as a national excellent course in 2003, with a total of 4 1 volume printed.

Its contents include microstructure, crystal defects, movement of atoms and molecules, range strain and recrystallization of materials, equilibrium and phase diagram, metastable state of materials, physical properties of materials and so on. , focusing on basic concepts and theories, emphasizing scientificity, advancement and practicality, introducing new developments in the field of materials science, and applying theories to raise practical problems.
