Yangjiang belongs to Jiangcheng District, Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province. Yangjiang is a prefecture-level city in Guangdong Province and a metropolis on the west bank of the Pearl River Estuary. Located in the western coast of Guangdong Province, close to the Pearl River Delta, bordering on western Guangdong. It has jurisdiction over Yangxi County, Yangdong District, Yangchun Jiangcheng District, Hailing Island Economic Development Experimental Zone and Yangjiang High-tech Industrial Development Zone.
Yangjiang is located in the southwest coast of Guangdong, with a length of 1 12.5km from east to west and 132.75km from north to south. Yangjiangdong is surrounded by mountains on three sides, west and north, and faces the South China Sea on the south. Mutong Mountain, Luotouling Mountain and Ziluo Mountain in the east are distributed from northeast to southwest. The terrain is mainly low hills, with weathered crust and bedrock platform, which are distributed in the front of low hills. It is the alluvial plain and coastal plain of Yangmo River.
Yangjiang was once an important transit station and supply station of the Maritime Silk Road during the Han, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties. Yangjiang has excellent mountains and seas and beautiful scenery, including the ten most beautiful islands in China, the first batch of Hailing Island in National Ocean Park and Lingxiaoyan in National Geological Park, and Nanhai No.1, an ancient shipwreck in the Song Dynasty for more than 800 years.
