Extended data:

Part 1 "What knowledge is most valuable" is the core of this book. The author criticizes the disadvantages of neglecting children's physical, moral and intellectual training in the past, and advocates that education should meet the actual needs of society and prepare people for a full life in many ways. It is pointed out that the most valuable knowledge for preparing people's life is scientific knowledge, and a curriculum system including natural science, social science, Chinese and art is put forward.

In the remaining three parts, the author discusses the contents, principles and methods of intellectual education, moral education and physical education respectively. Some people think that in intellectual education, knowledge teaching must adapt to the development of children's minds and encourage children to think positively and learn actively. In moral education, we oppose the repressive and artificial moral cultivation of children, and advocate the education of "natural consequences", so that children can educate themselves with the consequences of their actions and cultivate their autonomy.

In sports, we oppose the artificial sports system, advocate children's natural sports, pay attention to the quality and nutrition of children's food, and keep their clothes warm and strong. This book reflects the new requirements of British capitalist political and economic development for education in the mid-Kloc-0/9th century, and promotes the development of western curriculum theory.
