The Science and Technology Development Center of the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC) is a bureau-level institution directly under the Ministry of Education. It was established with the approval of the Central Organizing Committee to promote the scientific and technological development of colleges and universities in China. Mainly responsible for the management of scientific research funds, scientific research achievements, scientific and technological development, transformation and promotion of achievements, and scientific and technological industries in colleges and universities across the country, and making suggestions for the scientific and technological policies of colleges and universities of the Ministry of Education.

On February 6, 2022, approved by the Central Editorial Board, the Social Science Development Research Center of the Ministry of Education and the Science and Technology Development Center of the Ministry of Education were integrated to form the Science Research and Development Center of the Ministry of Education.
