The three one-support exams are divided into written tests and interviews. The written test subjects are "Professional Ability Test" and "Comprehensive Knowledge". In some areas, "application" is added, and the written test does not specify the examination review book; Interview and assessment by the "three supports and one support" office is responsible for, according to the plan to set a certain proportion, to the county (city, district) as a unit according to the position classification from high to low to determine the shortlisted interview and assessment personnel list.

The exam is similar to that of civil servants. Public basic knowledge includes current politics, official document knowledge, township economy, township culture, township administration and so on, as well as an applied article. The comprehensive knowledge is basically the same as that of civil servants, but there are more knowledge points in villages and towns. There are multiple-choice questions, indefinite questions, fill-in-the-blank questions, short-answer questions and official document writing.
