Reform education: 1898 During the "Hundred Days Reform" from June to September, the Qing government issued a large number of letters on reform and political reform, among which the contents related to education reform mainly included:

(1) abolish stereotyped writing, change strategic theory, set up special economic courses and reform the scientific system;

(2) The establishment of Shi Jing University Hall in Beijing, as a model of national schools, has also assumed the responsibility of governing schools in various provinces;

(3) All the old academies, large and small, will be changed into new schools, and universities, secondary schools and primary schools will be organized;

(4) Establish specialized schools for railways, agriculture and mining.

⑤ Send people to study abroad and inspect the foreign academic system;

⑥ Establish translation bureaus and compilation schools to compile foreign textbooks and other books.

The educational reform of the Reform Movement of 1898 embodies the bourgeois educational spirit that the reformists denied the traditional education.
