Lichuan No.1 Middle School is located at Xuefu Avenue 1, Lichuan City, Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hubei Province. It is one of the first batch of key high schools in Hubei Province.

The school was founded in 1905, formerly known as ethnic primary school. 1938, renamed as "Lichuan Junior High School Branch of Hubei United Middle School"; 1978 was identified by the provincial education department as the first batch of key high schools in the province. 1986, Lichuan was renamed as No.1 Middle School of Lichuan City after it was removed from the county and built into a city.

The school has complete infrastructure, designed according to the scale of 6000 students, and can accommodate 120 classes. There are 6 spacious and bright teaching buildings, including 12 standard apartment for six people, with two bathrooms and two washstands, providing 24-hour hot water, 1 high-standard laboratory building, and 3 1 standard laboratories for eight disciplines including mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, history, geography, general technology and calligraphy.
