Both good students and bad students should have the opportunity to go to college. Everyone should have some time to get to know themselves before starting work and making money. Education is an investment in yourself and your future. For better or worse, students must decide to invest real money and time.
Higher education is very expensive. It seems a waste of money to send someone to college who may not be able to cope with the course work. However, education is a valuable investment in future career income. People with college degrees earn more money and have more opportunities in the future. Do we have the right to say no if people have the desire to improve their lives?
Higher education is also a huge investment in time. Some people think that a weak student should get a job and earn some money. They think that poor students should not waste their time in college. But college is the time to meet different people, separate from parents and start to define yourself as a person. I think this is an experience that every student should have.
I think every student should have a chance to see how far she can go. Students with poor grades in high school may do well in different environments. College may be expensive and take time, but it is an investment in one's self and future.
