Investigation Report on Left-behind Children in Rural Areas —— Investigation Report on Education of Left-behind Children in Rural Areas
Children left behind in rural areas are a special group.
In recent years, a special group has emerged in rural areas of China. Left-behind children
The so-called left-behind children in rural areas mean that with a large number of rural adult men and women moving to cities and towns for employment, most of them do not have children, which leads to many rural children staying away from their parents or single parents and becoming left-behind children in rural families, and most of them rely on grandparents for supervision. With the transfer of rural surplus labor force to cities in China, rural areas have emerged. Left-behind children are a special social group and need great attention and care.
The problem of left-behind children can not be ignored.
Children left behind in rural areas are a special group of minors. They have difficulties only because their parents go out to work, such as poor study guidance, poor life care and insufficient parent-child contact.
However, the existing survey shows that these left-behind children have serious faults or deficiencies in ideological and moral health, especially in family education, because they are far away from their parents and lack the care of their parents and complete families. In real life, some parents who go out to work fail to take care of the left-behind children in their hometown, which makes the children lose their sense of security, and the left-behind children in rural areas are trafficked, accidentally injured and dropped out of school. Due to the lack of family care and correct family education, rural left-behind children are more likely to deviate from the normal track in their ideological, behavioral and psychological growth and development.
? The main problems existing in the basic situation of left-behind children's education are:
(1) poor learning. On the one hand, dual-income parents have low expectations for their children. The survey found that some migrant workers subconsciously think that there are not many successful children in rural areas, and position their children's studies on completing one-year compulsory education and their children on going out to work. On the other hand, guardians rarely ask about the learning situation of left-behind children, which is quite different from the left-behind children's ideas, and there are obvious communication obstacles and many disadvantages in education. In addition, they also undertake housework and farm work in the fields, and have no time and energy to pay attention to their children and study.
(2) personality defects. Because parents who go out to work travel all the year round, they go home less often, have less contact with left-behind children, and lack sufficient attention and guidance for their children's growth. Teenagers are at the turning point of emotional and personality changes, separated from their parents for a long time. They easily become introverted, self-abased, pessimistic and withdrawn. In addition, among the left-behind children, the proportion of parents' love is high. The main reason is that the guardian at home can't control it, dare not control it, and won't control it.
(3) Lack of affection. It is the most serious and realistic problem that parents working outside the home cause the lack of affection for left-behind children. Due to the absence of parents, left-behind children lack the comfort and care of family for a long time, and are often nervous and focused, insecure and have poor interpersonal skills. At the same time, according to the investigation and discussion, most left-behind children show anxiety about family economy, parents' health and safety.
I don't want my parents to work outside the home all the year round, and the older I get, the more I show a strong demand for caring for my family and parents, and my satisfaction with life is gradually decreasing. The proportion of left-behind children who encounter obstacles in interpersonal culture, personality, life feelings, life ideals, cooperation for help, and academic performance has increased significantly.
(4) Psychological disorder. The data shows that the guardians of left-behind children are less involved in their mental health problems and pay insufficient attention. Primary and secondary school students are in a period of rapid physical and mental development. They have unique knowledge and understanding of their own changes, academic pressure and interpersonal communication. There have also been many troubles and conflicts. At this time, they need to be close and open, and guardians have no time to take care of their emotions and emotional changes. This situation is extremely unfavorable to their mental health, resulting in psychological problems such as emotional fragility, self-abandonment, anxiety and closure, lack of self-confidence, pessimism and negativity.
(5) Behavior deviation. In the compulsory education stage, children and adolescents are still in the heteronomy stage, and their self-discipline ability is very poor. Because parents are not around, the relationship between children and guardians is quite special. As long as you don't make a big mistake, the guardian will generally adopt a recognized attitude towards the child's behavior.
Due to the lack of timely and effective restraint and discipline, some left-behind children are lax in discipline and have behavioral deviations. The survey found that many left-behind children don't listen to their grandparents' instruction at home, have poor moral quality at school, don't abide by rules and regulations, and often come late, leave early, play truant, lie, fight and bully their classmates. Some of them are obsessed with billiards rooms, internet cafes and game halls, and even mix with some irresponsible adults in society. Guardians, parents and schools all find it difficult to control the behavior problems of left-behind children.
Establish an educational monitoring system for children and adolescents in rural communities and give full play to the educational role of rural areas. The education of children and adolescents has always been the common responsibility of families, schools and communities. At present, in the vast rural areas, because most of them have not established relevant educational institutions for children and adolescents, the rural areas have little effect on the education, growth and development of children and adolescents. The stable times when children and teenagers are accompanied by their parents are gone forever, and there will be more and more short-term and long-term absence of their parents in family life.
In this way, the responsibility of guardianship and education for children and adolescents falls almost entirely on the shoulders of schools, but children spend only a quarter of their time in schools, while most of the other time is spent in families and society. Therefore, in the absence of family education, it is particularly urgent to establish and improve rural left-behind children's guidance stations and rural educational institutions. At the same time, it is also possible and basic to establish rural education and guardianship system.
From the family's point of view, it is necessary to change the way parents go out and the way of parent-child communication. It can be seen from the survey materials that if both parents go out, it will have a greater impact on their children's academic performance, while if one parent is at home, the impact will be much smaller. It is suggested that parents should stay at home to monitor their children's study and life when they go out to work, so as to ensure the integrity of family education and keep parents in touch with the school.
Share the responsibility of educating children. In addition, if both parents go out, it is best to take their children to school at work to facilitate education. If the conditions do not allow, we should change the way of communication with parents and children, pay attention to the time can not be too long apart, keep in constant contact with children, and be very familiar with their situation.
Specifically, first, there are more exchange time and opportunities, which have certain consistency; Second, in the content of communication, we should not only study and take exams, but also pay attention to their life psychology and emotions, and pay more attention to their thoughts, ideas and actions; Third, in terms of communication methods, in addition to telephone contact, letters can also be used.
Call on the whole society to pay attention to left-behind children in rural areas.
Left-behind children in rural areas are an important part of children groups and builders in rural poverty-stricken areas in the future. Their healthy growth is not only related to the happiness of thousands of families, but also to the improvement of the quality of the whole nation, which is related to the bright future and the sustainable development of the national cause. Therefore, it is an urgent task to care for left-behind children in rural areas and solve social phenomena in the process of population urbanization and labor transfer.
In this way, it is difficult for left-behind children to get their parents' love and care, their parents' words and faxes, and their parents' help in ideological understanding and values. In their minds, parents are a long-term floating figure and an unreachable hope. Their young hearts are lonely, their growth is lonely, and their values are vague.
It is easy for orphans in this era to lack the love of their parents because of long-term foster care or foster care. Lead to psychological defects, such as withdrawn introversion, negative emotions, timidity, poor consciousness and so on. Due to the doting of the elderly or the lack of correct value guidance from relatives and friends, their academic performance is generally poor, their lives are lax, and some even embark on the road of illegal crimes.
Investigation Report on Left-behind Children in Rural Areas II With the deepening of reform and opening up, the acceleration of economic and social development, and the continuous advancement of marketization, industrialization and urbanization, the rural surplus labor force has gradually shifted to cities on a large scale and become an important part of the rural economy. While working to increase their income, they broadened their horizons, changed their concepts, learned technology, increased their knowledge, and promoted the economic and social development of their hometown.
However, what have a large number of young people who go out to work brought to the local society? Left-behind children Empty nesters? And so on, has aroused the concern of the whole society. In this regard, the Municipal Work Committee requires the city's work committees at all levels? Investigate the problems of left-behind children and take active and effective countermeasures to care for the vast rural areas? The left-behind children grow up healthily.
From April to May this year, the Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection organized two research groups, and six comrades (3 in each group) went to all counties (districts), townships (towns), villages and schools in the city to conduct special research, and together with relevant comrades of Party committees, governments and the Commission for Discipline Inspection at all levels, paid close attention to care? The present situation and problems, practices and experiences, countermeasures and suggestions of the work for left-behind children have been seriously discussed. The survey is summarized as follows:
I. Current situation and problems
According to statistics, at present, there are more than 420,000 rural migrant workers in our city, accounting for 33.8% of the total rural labor force in the city and about 50% of the rural surplus labor force. These migrant workers are almost all over the large and medium-sized cities in all provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in China, and most of them are in the southeast coastal areas. According to the preliminary statistics of Guanling, Ziyun and other counties, the money remitted by migrant workers from the post office every year is equivalent to the total revenue of the county finance for the whole year. At the beginning of some counties, it is estimated that the total income of migrant workers accounts for more than one-third of the total per capita net income of farmers in the county.
During the investigation, we learned about the economic situation of some townships (towns) and villages. The total annual income of migrant workers who go out to work greatly exceeds the total annual income of townships (towns), which is one-third or even more than two-thirds of the total per capita net income of farmers. Such considerable economic income not only reflects the important contribution of migrant workers to China's economic construction, but also promotes the economic and social development and progress of their hometown. In the long run, the trend of migrant workers going out to work will continue to develop, and there will be more and more migrant workers.
A large number of rural surplus laborers go out to work, and the vast majority of their children still stay in their original places, and are taken care of by grandparents, uncles, relatives and friends, and a few are taken care of by brothers and sisters. According to statistics, there are 7 1075 left-behind children in rural areas under the age of 0/5 in the city, most of whom study in local kindergartens, preschool classes, primary schools and junior high schools.
In addition, there are children of floating population, orphans and disabled children scattered in schools in counties (districts), and a few couples who go out to work and take their children to study in other places, and one of them takes care of their children at home, which is not counted. According to the statistics of pingba county commission for work, the county? There are 9,265 left-behind children, accounting for 24.3% of the total number of children and adolescents and14% of the total number of primary and secondary school students in the county; 85% of left-behind children are supervised by other generations, 10% are entrusted to relatives and friends, and 5% live alone with brothers and sisters.
Puding county? Left-behind children in middle schools account for 15% of the total number of middle school students, and those in primary schools account for 22% of the total number of primary school students. There are 7,322 left-behind children in Zhenning Autonomous County, including 3 177 children whose parents go out, 4 145 children who go out unilaterally, 4 1254 children who study in middle schools and 4,898 children who study in primary schools.
There are 9,079 left-behind children in Guanling Autonomous County, 34 floating children/kloc-0, 526 orphans and disabled children, 2,834 junior high school students, 5,852 primary schools, 882 preschool or kindergarten students, and 33 special education departments (disabled and deaf) in Guansuo. Does Ziyun Autonomous County attend primary and secondary schools? Left-behind children account for 19% of the total number of students in school, and 7 1.36% is supervised by other generations; 8.85% are under the guardianship of relatives and friends, and 2,748 people live with brothers and sisters or live alone, accounting for 20% of the total number of left-behind children.
Children are a group that needs help from adults. The growth of children is an unshirkable responsibility of adults. Parents are the indispensable sky for children. These left-behind children are entrusted to their grandparents and other relatives and friends. Many problems brought by them in life, study, psychology and even safety are concerned by the society. In the investigation, we found that in? Left-behind children have three major problems:
(A) lack of affection, generally introverted, withdrawn, inferiority complex, there are psychological barriers. In the survey, we found that most migrant workers only go home once a year, and some even go home once every few years. ? Left-behind children I miss my parents very much, don't I? Left-behind children have a folk song duet, a singing method? The sun is red, and my parents are working in Guangdong; Meet in my dream in the middle of the night and wake up with nothing. ? B is that right? The moon is bright, and parents go to Jianjiang to work; Get together in the middle of the night and wake up with tears in your eyes. ? This is a true portrayal of how they miss their parents. Pingba County is slightly better, 30% of left-behind children communicate with their parents by telephone, and the communication rate is less than once a month.
Most left-behind children's family needs can't be met, and they can't get timely counseling when they encounter psychological problems, which greatly affects their physical and mental health. Machang Town and Huachu Town of Puding County generally reflect that left-behind children are eager to communicate with their relatives because of lack of affection, but it is difficult for their parents to take care of them, resulting in most left-behind children being introverted, withdrawn, unsociable and inferior, and some left-behind children are rebellious. Li Kangyan and Shilin, students of Jellyfish Primary School, have been separated from their parents for a long time, and their personalities are introverted and withdrawn, which leads to poor language expression ability and obvious lack of self-confidence. The main manifestations of personality disorder or abnormal development are:
First, self-isolation, not telling people when things happen.
Some students were bullied outside without telling their guardians or teachers. A pupil surnamed Wang in Pingba County is a very obedient and thrifty boy. At one time, several senior students forced Wang to ask for it. Protection money? Wang had to crustily skin of head and ask grandpa again and again, until grandpa became suspicious and followed him to school, only to find out his purpose of asking for money.
Second, the sense of inferiority is enhanced, and people always feel inferior.
A left-behind child said that he was most afraid of holding a parent-teacher conference at school, meeting his classmates outside and making out with his parents. In order to avoid all this, he never goes to his classmates' home with his parents at home. Third, there is a lack of love and a tendency to violence. A survey of a school in Pingba county shows that in the eyes of some left-behind students, there are two kinds of classmates, one is? Can you afford it? , one is? Not to be taunted? . They bully others if they can afford it, and they are bullied if they can't afford it. Due to the lack of love, they often appear indifferent to others, refuse to integrate into the collective life, and are not good at caring for and helping others.
(B) lack of family education, poor academic performance, moral behavior out of control. In the investigation of counties (districts), it is found that? Left-behind children's cultural quality is generally low, and their academic performance is generally at the middle and lower level, which is obviously different from that of students from normal families. Someone suffers? Reading is useless? The influence of, tired of learning, truant, and even drop out of school. According to a survey in Xinghuo Township, Ziyun Autonomous County, most left-behind children have neglected their parents' management education and lacked enthusiasm and initiative in learning, so 50%? Left-behind children can't finish homework, 74%? The academic performance of left-behind children has dropped sharply, 80%? Left-behind children's academic performance is in the middle and lower level, of which more than 40% are poor students, and only 2% have good grades.
Is there a complete primary school in Jiuzhou Town, Xixiu District? Among the 206 students, 182 left-behind children have poor academic performance, while the other 24 have average academic performance. Xia Yun Primary School in Pingba County? Left-behind children in middle schools, less than 20% have good academic performance, more than 80% are middle and lower classes, and the main subjects are only 30-40 points. Due to the lack of parental education, most? Left-behind children become free? Wild horse? Many bad behavior habits have been formed, such as poor organizational discipline, frequent lateness, leaving early, lack of space, and serious violation of school rules and regulations.
Poor living habits, swearing, swearing, smoking and drinking occur from time to time, and some even hide online or indulge in internet cafes, stealing when the money is spent, and they are infected with the bad habit of petty theft. According to the investigation of some schools in Pingba County, the proportion of left-behind children in puppy love is obviously higher than that of children in normal families. Due to lax supervision, some left-behind children are exposed to obscene printed matter and audio-visual products, and their young minds can't resist their temptation, resulting in serious mental damage, wrong behavior and even crime.
Puding county jellyfish primary school student Shi from the initial? Three good? He became a poor student, and his behavior changed from an excellent student to an underachiever. He often gangs, wanders around at night, and even sets fire to the classroom door. He also often invites some students to watch obscene butterflies and often plays truant. According to the survey, 30% of the left-behind children in Spark Township, Ziyun County have the experience of fighting, and 15% have bad behaviors such as destroying public property and stealing other people's property. For example, two students in Xinghuo Primary School often go to farmers' fields to steal watermelons, corn and cabbage at night.
