China people attach importance to family, so many books, proverbs and stories about family education have been handed down. Surnames are often used as the names of family instructions, such as Yan Family Instructions handed down to future generations by Yan Zhitui in Northern Qi Dynasty.

Family education in China is basically taught by the elders to the younger generation.
