Children facing the future need seven core qualities: communication and cooperation literacy, information literacy, creativity and problem-solving ability, self-knowledge and self-discipline, learning to learn and lifelong learning, critical thinking, civic responsibility and social participation.

These are the seven core literacy advocated by the World Education Innovation Summit (WISE) and China Education Innovation Institute of Beijing Normal University in the report "Facing the Future: Global Experience of Core Literacy Education in 2 1 Century".

Other core qualities of concern mainly include: cross-cultural and international understanding, life planning and happy life, leadership and other general qualities, as well as language literacy, mathematics literacy, scientific and technological literacy, humanities and social literacy, artistic literacy, sports and health literacy, environmental literacy, financial literacy and other fields.
