According to Shannon-Weaver communication model, a typical traditional education communication process includes seven elements: source (teacher), coding (professor), channel (channel), decoding (learning), receiver (student), interference and feedback. New media affects the elements of communication mode, and then affects the process of educational communication. 1. The influence of new media on information sources (teachers) Traditionally, teachers' job is to "fill" students' minds with a lot of so-called "real" knowledge. According to American social psychologist Kurt? In Lei Wen's view, there are some gatekeepers of information in the process of group communication. Only information content that meets the group norms or gatekeeper's value standards can enter the communication channel. In the field of educational communication, teachers are the "gatekeepers" in the process of educational communication. They pass on the experience, knowledge and emotion that conform to specific values to students through the process of teaching and learning. In this process, students passively participate in the process of accepting teachers' knowledge, so they are more dependent on teachers (see Figure 2). The digitalization and networking characteristics of new media have changed students' dependence on teachers when acquiring knowledge. Students and teachers have equal opportunities to face knowledge. Sometimes students are exposed to knowledge that teachers are not necessarily familiar with. Therefore, teachers in the new media era no longer play the role of "gatekeeper", but become helpers, guides and promoters of students' learning. New media has changed the role of teachers (see Figure 3). The influence of new media on teachers is enormous. In recent ten years, many new educational ideas and teaching models have been born to adapt to this change, such as 2 1 century skill standard, 2 1 century learning and educational technology ability standard (students and teachers), knowledge construction, project learning, research learning and so on. Teachers in 2 1 century need to apply these ideas and models in teaching practice. 2. The influence of new media on students. In traditional education, students are regarded as "containers" waiting to be filled, and they will unconditionally accept what teachers think is important. So students' learning is usually passive and mechanical. New media technology provides a two-way channel for individuals to participate in the communication process. Students are both recipients and publishers of teaching information. Therefore, individual learners can actively participate in educational communication activities. Situational cognitive theory holds that learning is realized through individual participation, and it is a process composed of learning partners. Participants in this process will change or transform through mutual cooperation and communication. Because of the new media, students can form, develop and create common knowledge and individual knowledge about something with others, and students have changed from passive knowledge consumers to active knowledge creators. The new media encourages students to actively participate in teaching activities. While receiving information, students can express themselves freely in time and share their views with others (including teachers, experts, classmates, etc.). ), accept the judgment and evaluation of others, and maintain a continuous dialogue with others. In the process of dialogue and communication, students can realize a deep understanding of knowledge. In addition, due to the digital and interactive characteristics of new media, students can obtain all kinds of information without time and space constraints, realize on-demand learning, and get timely guidance from teachers or support from learning scaffolding. Learners can realize continuous learning through interactive tips directly embedded in learning resources and the guidance of real-time or virtual help strategy models. The influence of new media on students can be summarized as follows: supporting and respecting students' learning interests, needs, imagination and thirst for knowledge; Students will take on more learning responsibilities in the process of participatory learning; Students' roles and learning styles in traditional teaching will change. 3. The influence of new media on educational information generally refers to educational content, including knowledge, skills, ideas and concepts. Generally, educational information is contained in carriers in various ways, such as textbooks, models, wall charts, etc. Teaching information in traditional education has the characteristics of stability, structure, organization and specialization, and is monopolized by intellectual elites. The way to acquire knowledge needs a one-way model of teachers teaching and students learning. Traditional education is basically around the educational information in textbooks. However, in today's society, the cycle of knowledge renewal has been shortened. For many disciplines, the expectation of knowledge relevance and frequency has been reduced from several decades to several months and years now (P67), and the knowledge just printed in books is probably out of date. Generally, it is difficult to ensure that the knowledge content of textbooks is updated in time, but the application of new media can effectively alleviate the challenge brought by the rapid depreciation of traditional paper textbooks, because compared with the time span from writing to publishing, end users sometimes only need to spend a few minutes to produce and disseminate information. The new media has expanded the channels of information dissemination, provided diversified information sources, such as digital libraries and analyzable real-world data, and established contacts with other people who can provide information, feedback and experience (P7), and exposed people to the sea of information, making the range of information available for selection and acquisition wider and wider. This change brought by new media has created conditions for information exchange, reorganization and reconstruction. With the support of new media, students can not only receive the knowledge taught by teachers in class, but also obtain knowledge such as blogs, open classes and online resource libraries. It provides convenience for students to process knowledge, and makes information present new characteristics such as activity, rapid development and generation. The application of new media in the field of education has changed the space for the creation, dissemination, sharing and utilization of educational information, promoted the co-creation among participants, and developed and formed a two-way information exchange model. 4. The influence of new media on educational communication mode The traditional teaching mode based on didacticism is the main mode of school education in the 20th century. However, in the information society, this educational mode of imparting knowledge from teachers to students can no longer meet the knowledge needed for the lifelong development of personal career. Students' learning is not only to accept new knowledge and new ideas, but also a continuous, exploratory and supportive process ②(P40). The focus of teaching has shifted from being diligent in practice and practice to paying attention to learners' understanding and application of knowledge ③(P 1). Social development needs an educational communication mode that can reflect new educational ideas and concepts. New media provides an ideal material foundation and technical guarantee for building a new educational communication model. New media can promote students' participation in information dissemination and feedback in the teaching process. In traditional teaching, the relationship between control and controlled between teachers and students is replaced by democratic and equal dialogue, and the one-way and linear teaching process is transformed into interactive and nonlinear teaching. In the environment created by new media, teachers and students get to know each other's thoughts and opinions through one-to-one, one-to-many and many-to-many exchanges, discussions, consultations or inquiry activities, and jointly create and share knowledge. This process is consistent with the knowledge view of modern society. Due to the continuous derivation of new knowledge in modern society, it is difficult for people to fully own knowledge products and store them intact in individual minds. Instead, they should "store it in friends or technology" (page 45) and find and get it when necessary. By keeping a continuous dialogue, we can know who will help in solving problems or completing tasks (P 13). Only by maintaining the dialogue between teachers and students can we ensure the smooth and effective teaching. The massive information brought by new media expands, expresses and expounds the inherent diversity of knowledge through different representations (such as words, videos, pictures or videos), so as to achieve the purpose of transmitting ideas, concepts, emotions, information and knowledge, and meet the personality development requirements of students with different learning abilities and learning styles. The educational communication mode supported by new media can meet the different needs of students. For example, students who like multi-sensory channels can choose multimedia combination to present teaching information and study; Visual learners can learn by observing pictures, charts, videos and experiments. Students can study in various physical, virtual or mixed learning environments, such as resource-based, inquiry-based or project-based learning. New media supports students to provide learning feedback and get adaptive help and support, which is conducive to teachers' timely diagnosis and guidance according to students' specific conditions. Therefore, learning based on new media can effectively improve the lack or lag of feedback in traditional education. Teachers do not simply impart knowledge to learners, but design, manage and maintain student-centered multi-dimensional learning environments for different learners. Teachers become the promoters and helpers of students' learning, ensuring that students can get necessary learning support or learning remedy in time during the learning process. Therefore, new media can stimulate students' learning motivation, make them more actively participate in the learning process and become the masters of learning. The mode of educational communication is dynamic, organic and developmental. As an open system, the mode of educational communication will change with different cultural, technological and social environments. The application of new media in the field of education has changed the basic elements and the connotation of their relationship in the process of educational communication, and promoted the transformation of educational communication mode from teacher-centered to student-centered (see table 1).
Technology usually develops with the progress of society. New technologies emerge one after another, which will have a lasting or revolutionary impact on education. The emergence of new media makes people participate in a more interactive and community-based world, creates new possibilities for us to share experiences and explore knowledge, and injects new vitality into the reform and innovation of educational communication mode. With the application of new media, the mode of educational communication has gradually changed from teacher-centered to student-centered, and it has the characteristics of interactivity, nonlinearity and digitalization. At the same time, the new media also makes education face a new round of challenges. The diversity of choices may make students feel at a loss in their choices, and they will face many new problems, including how to select and organize valuable information in the vast amount of information, how to establish and maintain various relationships and identities with others through new media to meet individual needs and so on. Teachers need to think about how to reposition and adjust teaching strategies in order to effectively apply new media technology in the new teaching environment in which new media participates. The opportunities and challenges brought by new media to educational communication will surely promote the further improvement and development of educational communication mode.
