TOEFL:
TOEFL was developed by educational testing service (ETS) on 1964, which is used to test the ability of candidates from non-English speaking countries to understand and use English in the campus environment. At present, TOEFL scores have been recognized by 1 10 countries, more than 6,000 universities, vocational schools and educational institutions, and TOEFL has been widely recognized as an English proficiency test item internationally. More than180,000 candidates have taken the TOEFL test in the world, including nearly 825,000 last year alone.
The Internet-based TOEFL online test was first launched in the United States in September 2005, which represents a brand-new way to learn and evaluate English in the higher education environment. On the basis of a lot of research work, TOEFL online test simulates the real scene of a university, comprehensively examines the communicative competence of four languages, points out the advantages and disadvantages of candidates' language competence, and provides competence feedback letters. ETS also provides a series of online learning tools and online information resources for the majority of candidates to help them actively prepare for the TOEFL online test and improve their English learning ability. TOEFL online test will be implemented in other parts of the world in 2006. Before the TOEFL online test is implemented in other parts of the world, candidates can continue to take the local TOEFL computer test and written test.
GRE test:
GRE is an entrance examination for graduate students, which is suitable for graduate students in various disciplines and majors except law (LSAT) and business (GMAT). There are two kinds of GRE tests, general GRE tests and special GRE subjects, but most colleges and universities in the United States do not require special GRE scores, only general GRE scores. The general GRE test tests the general analytical thinking and writing ability, reading comprehension ability and mathematical operation ability in various fields.
From July 2003 1, the GRE general examination was changed to computer examination and written examination in China (including Hongkong and Taiwan Province Province). GRE analysis writing test takes the form of computerized test and is conducted in the examination center authorized by Education Examination Service Center. The Chinese and math sections are conducted in written form.
Toe test:
Toe test is an English assessment system developed by educational testing service (ETS) in 1979, which is aimed at government agencies and large multinational enterprises. It is used to measure the communication ability of people whose mother tongue is not English in daily working environment. After 26 years' development, TOEIC has become the preferred standard for global occupational English assessment. The theory of testing and its performance analysis has been widely used in more than 60 countries and more than 5300 large multinational companies and colleges, with an annual test volume of more than 4.5 million times.
On June165438+1October1day, 2002, the Vocational Skills Appraisal Bureau of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security officially introduced the toeic test, which is the preferred standard for evaluating professional English ability in the world, into China, presided over the development of the toeic test business in China, and distributed the corresponding toeic test scores according to the candidates.
Toe examination not only provides flexible "on-site diagnostic examination service" for enterprises/government agencies, but also holds six public examinations every year to meet the needs of people from all walks of life for English proficiency assessment to the greatest extent.
