The selected papers in Frontier of Mathematics Education Research include doctoral dissertations from universities in the United States, Singapore, Germany, Hong Kong and mainland China, as well as investigation reports and special studies on the current situation in China, aiming at accumulating and displaying the research achievements of Chinese mathematics educators and providing a basis for constructing Chinese mathematics education theory.
About the author: Tanaka, 1967, graduated from the Mathematics Department of Xinjiang University, and once taught mathematics in middle schools and normal schools. Now he is an associate professor in Changshu College, Jiangsu Province, mainly engaged in teaching and research of mathematics pedagogy related courses, and has published more than 20 research reports or papers in Journal of Mathematics Education, Bulletin of Mathematics, Mathematics Teaching and other magazines.
Research on the dual foundations of mathematics education;
The study of "double basics" is a big subject related to the goal of mathematics education in China. Where to cut in? In my opinion, the breakthrough point should be the most fundamental and related to the whole research direction, that is, the definition of the concept of "double base". Because if you don't know the exact meaning of "double base", grasping "double base" is blind to a considerable extent, at least not very sober.
To transform the learning of mathematical knowledge into ability and quality often depends more on the training and proficiency of mathematical skills and other intermediate links. It is impossible to learn mathematics well without doing a certain number and quality of exercises, and the most basic and universal function of mathematics exercises is skill training.
This probably shows that skill training, as the intermediary of knowledge and ability, is an important feature of mathematics learning. The mastery and proficiency of skills is the explicit behavior of learners relative to knowledge learning, which can be measured and evaluated.
In addition, the "sea tactics" and "large amount of exercise" under exam-oriented education are also related to basic skills training. Obviously, it is of practical significance to find a suitable scale for the training of basic mathematical skills.
