In 2003, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Chifeng College was formed by the merger of Chifeng Teachers College for Nationalities, Chifeng Education College and Chifeng Branch of Inner Mongolia TV University. At the same time, it was merged into Chifeng Health School and Inner Mongolia Kindergarten Teachers College to form a multi-disciplinary undergraduate college.

The College is located in Chifeng, the world-famous birthplace of Hongshan Culture. Chifeng City is the political, economic and military center of Liao Dynasty, with a long history, profound cultural heritage, rich tourism resources, unique location advantages and rich human resources. It is well-known at home and abroad as a national excellent tourist city and a world geological park.

The college covers an area of 9 12.63 mu, with a building area of 2 1. 1.000 square meters. The total value of fixed assets is 392.8 million yuan. There are modern teaching and research facilities such as experimental center, computer center, multimedia classroom, voice classroom and campus network. With a collection of 807,000 books and 6,543,800 e-books, the library is the largest library in Chifeng. There are precious documents in the museum, such as Sikuquanshu, Notes on Four Books, Integration of Ancient and Modern Books, Shitong and Tripitaka.

The College makes full use of the rich experience accumulated by the merged schools for decades, Hongshan Culture's unique geographical advantages, teaching and scientific research conditions and the important birthplace of northern ethnic culture, makes every effort to build a discipline brand and improve the level of running a school, and takes Mongolian Studies Research Center, Hongshan Culture International Studies Center, Northern Minority Culture Research Institute and other academic institutions as the leaders, forming its own school-running characteristics and discipline advantages.
