In 2003, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Chifeng College was formed by the merger of Chifeng Teachers College for Nationalities, Chifeng Education College and Chifeng Branch of Inner Mongolia TV University. At the same time, it was merged into Chifeng Health School and Inner Mongolia Kindergarten Teachers College to form a multi-disciplinary undergraduate college.
The College is located in Chifeng, the world-famous birthplace of Hongshan Culture. Chifeng City is the political, economic and military center of Liao Dynasty, with a long history, profound cultural heritage, rich tourism resources, unique location advantages and rich human resources. It is well-known at home and abroad as a national excellent tourist city and a world geological park.
The college covers an area of 9 12.63 mu, with a building area of 2 1. 1.000 square meters. The total value of fixed assets is 392.8 million yuan. There are modern teaching and research facilities such as experimental center, computer center, multimedia classroom, voice classroom and campus network. With a collection of 807,000 books and 6,543,800 e-books, the library is the largest library in Chifeng. There are precious documents in the museum, such as Sikuquanshu, Notes on Four Books, Integration of Ancient and Modern Books, Shitong and Tripitaka.
There are 758 full-time teachers in the college, including 447 professors and associate professors, 7 continuing professors, 3 external professors 13, backbone teachers at or above the autonomous region level 13, and teachers 13 who enjoy state-level government subsidies and Ceng Xianzi Education Fund awards. The college has eight disciplines: literature, history, law, teaching, science, engineering, medicine and management, and now offers Mongolian language and literature, Chinese language and literature, English, history, mathematics and applied mathematics, physics and electronic information engineering, computer science and technology, biology, chemistry, resource and environmental management, educational technology, sports, music, fine arts, community medicine, stomatology and clinical medicine. The college also has affiliated middle schools and affiliated hospitals. Textile Vocational and Technical College and Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Vocational and Technical College are affiliated to Chifeng College.
The College makes full use of the rich experience accumulated by the merged schools for decades, Hongshan Culture's unique geographical advantages, teaching and scientific research conditions and the important birthplace of northern ethnic culture, makes every effort to build a discipline brand and improve the level of running a school, and takes Mongolian Studies Research Center, Hongshan Culture International Studies Center, Northern Minority Culture Research Institute and other academic institutions as the leaders, forming its own school-running characteristics and discipline advantages. In recent years, the International Symposium on Northern Ethnic Culture, the Hongshan Culture International Symposium and the National Symposium on Chinese Studies have been highly praised by experts and scholars at home and abroad, and have had a certain impact at home and abroad. The college has a strong scientific research atmosphere. Since the Ninth Five-Year Plan, it has undertaken and completed 56 national philosophical and social science projects, national natural science foundation projects and autonomous region-level natural science foundation projects, published 6 180 papers in various journals at all levels, and published 778 monographs, textbooks and translations.
