These two schools cancelled the enrollment of adult education in 2004 and 2005 respectively. The continuing education departments of the two schools cancel academic education, no longer issue diplomas, and focus on advanced training. The reason is that after the expansion of enrollment in 1999 colleges and universities, the quality of adult education students has dropped sharply. Peking University and Tsinghua cancelled the adult education in order to keep the reputation of famous schools.
