North China Electric Power University was founded in Beijing, 1958, formerly known as Beijing Electric Power Institute, and has long been managed by the state electric power department. /kloc-moved from Beijing to Handan, Hebei in 0/969, and moved to Baoding in 0/970, renamed Hebei Electric Power Institute. 1978 was approved by the State Council as a national key university, and was renamed as North China Electric Power Institute in the same year.
