Liu Hui (about 225-295), a native of Zouping, Binzhou, Shandong Province, was a great mathematician in Wei and Jin Dynasties and one of the founders of China's classical mathematical theory.
Liu Hui is a very great mathematician in the history of Chinese mathematics. His representative works "Nine Arithmetic Notes" and "Arithmetic on the Island" are China's most precious mathematical heritage. Liu Hui has quick thinking and flexible methods. He advocates reasoning and intuition. He was the first person in China who explicitly advocated using logical reasoning to demonstrate mathematical propositions.
2. Zu Chongzhi
Zu Chongzhi (429-500), born in Jiankang (now Nanjing), was originally from Qixian County, Xiangyang. He was an outstanding mathematician and astronomer in the Southern and Northern Dynasties.
Zu Chongzhi studied natural science all his life, mainly contributing to mathematics, astronomical calendar and mechanical manufacturing. On the basis of exploring the accurate method of pi pioneered by Liu Hui, he calculated pi to the seventh place after the decimal point for the first time, and his ancestral rate made great contributions to the study of mathematics. It was not until the 6th century A.D./KLOC-that the Arab mathematician Al Cassie broke this record.
The Daming Calendar written by him was the most scientific and progressive calendar at that time, which provided a correct method for future astronomical research. His main works are In the Frontier, Composition, Explaining Words, Li Yi and so on.
3. Qin
Qin (1208- 1268) was born in Lujun (now Fanxian County, Henan Province), Han nationality. A famous mathematician in the Southern Song Dynasty, together with Ye Li, Yang Hui and Zhu Shijie, he was called the Four Masters of Mathematics in the Song and Yuan Dynasties.
Qin studied arithmetic, poetry, bows and arrows and architecture. He used to be the magistrate of Qiongzhou and was later demoted. 1247 completed the book "Nine Chapters". Among them, the method of finding one by taking the big derivative, the method of quadrature by three oblique directions and the Qin algorithm (the numerical method of finding the positive root of the higher power equation) are important contributions of world significance, and the solution methods of univariate higher power polynomials are expressed.
4. Guo Shoujing
Guo Shoujing (123 1 year-13 16 years) was thoughtful. Xingtai County, xing zhou. Famous astronomer, mathematician and expert in water conservancy engineering in Yuan Dynasty. In his early years, he studied under Liu, Liu, Liu, Liu, Liu, Liu, Liu, Liu, Liu, Liu, Liu, Liu, Liu, Liu, Liu, Liu. Yuan Renzong extended your life by three years, and Guo Shoujing died at the age of 86. He is the author of fourteen kinds of astronomical calendar works, such as "Push Step" and "Licheng".
5. Xu Guangqi
Xu Guangqi (1562.4.24-1633.1kloc-0/.8), the first word, Hu Xuan, the Catholic holy name Paul, Han nationality, a native of Shanghai County, Fahua Association, was a famous scientist and politician in Ming Dynasty. Chongzhen court official, does history, Wenyuange university, cabinet assistant minister.
Xu Guangqi devoted his life to the study of mathematics, astronomy, calendar, water conservancy and other aspects, and wrote a lot, especially agronomy, and translated books such as Geometry Elements, Taixi Water Law, and Encyclopedia of Agricultural Administration. At the same time, he is also a pioneer in communicating Chinese and western cultures. It has made important contributions to the cultural exchange between China and the West in the17th century.
