Irish is the official language of Ireland and the regional language officially recognized by Northern Ireland. Belonging to the Indo-European Celtic language family, it is also called Irish, Gaelic, IrishGaelic or Erse in English (this word is borrowed from Scotland), so there are other translations of Irish in Chinese, such as Geidel, Gaelic or Irish Gaelic. Irish is closely related to Brittany, Welsh and Scottish Gaelic.
